Dr. Sakib Mohammad Moinuddin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences at California Northstate University College of Pharmacy (CNUCOP). At CNUCOP, he teaches Pharmaceutics, Biopharmaceutics, and Pharmacokinetics to Pharm.D. students.
Dr. Moinuddin earned his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutics from China Pharmaceutical University, Nanjing, China. His doctoral research focused on improving the solubility and bioavailability of Biopharmaceutics Classification System (BCS) Class II and Class IV drugs using coamorphous and cocrystal pharmaceutical systems, as well as advanced drug formulation approaches. His Ph.D. research resulted in several peer-reviewed publications and two patents. He subsequently completed three years of postdoctoral research at California Northstate University and the East Bay Institute for Research and Education, California. His postdoctoral research focused on lipid nanoparticle (LNP)-based nucleic acid delivery, liposomal drug delivery systems, and microfluidic chip models for pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) and cancer.
Dr. Moinuddin has extensive experience in both the pharmaceutical industry and academic research. Before joining CNUCOP, he worked in the R&D Department (Analytical Development Group) at Patheon by Thermo Fisher Scientific, USA. Previously, he spent five years in pharmaceutical manufacturing and quality assurance (QA) at Delta Pharma Limited, Bangladesh. He subsequently served as a Senior Formulation Scientist in the R&D Center for three years at Guilin Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., China, a member of Fosun Pharma, China. During his industry career, he was granted one patent.
He is a member of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) and serves as an Advisor to the Center for Research Innovation and Development (CRID) Bioinformatics Research Lab ( https://cridglobal.org/bioinformatics-research-lab/ ).
